Speedway trails
Wilshaw Apartments in Speedway is less than a quarter of a mile from the trailhead for the Peoria Eastern Rail Trail heading west from Speedway. It’s also less than three miles from the White River Trail which runs roughly North-South through downtown Indianapolis.
Additionally, the B&O trail, which currently runs East-West from CR 500 in Tilden to Raceway Road in Clermont, recently received a $4.5 million Next Level Trail Grant from the state for extensions to connect to Indianapolis. The upshot is that Speedway will soon have more miles of trail connecting us to destinations both to the east and the west.
